After numerous teases, Huawei finally launched the Huawei MateBook D 15 2021 in Nepal today (March 9, 2022). It’s a laptop from Huawei announced in December 2020, which features Intel’s 11th gen CPUs.

The Huawei MateBook D 15 2021 price in Nepal is Rs. 1,09,990. It is available at Huawei authorized stores and online through Daraz across Nepal.

The company also offers AMD variants of the same laptop, which was announced in October 2021. However, it’s not available in Nepal, at least for now.

The company also launched the Huawei MateBook 14 in the country today.

Huawei MateBook D 15 2021 Overview

The Huawei MateBook D 15 2021 has a metallic aluminium alloy body and measures 16.9mm in thickness. The laptop has a fingerprint sensor on the power button.

The laptop also features a hidden 720p camera within the keyboard. It’s underneath a key and pops up only when given a press. For privacy reasons, this is a great design, but it causes the webcam angle to be unnatural.

The speakers are located underneath the laptop. In terms of ports, it has three USB Type-A ports (1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 2x USB 2.0), a USB Type-C port (charging port), an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS LCD display. As mentioned earlier, because the webcam is underneath a key, it has enabled the laptop to have a minimal top bezel and an 87% screen-to-body ratio.

The top and side bezels are only 5.3mm thick, while the bottom one is thicker. Moreover, the display has a typical brightness of 250 nits. It also received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certification.

It is equipped with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. The CPU has 4 cores and 8 threads with a max clock speed of up to 4.2GHz. For GPU, it has Intel’s integrated Iris Xe Graphics.

The laptop also features Huawei Share, which allows Huawei devices to communicate with one another effortlessly. The ecosystem enables simple file transfers between Huawei smartphones and laptops, as well as the use of Huawei tablets as a secondary display for laptops, among other things.

For memory, it comes with 8GB LPDDR4X and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. And for connectivity, it supports up to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Furthermore, the laptop has two downward-facing 2W speakers and two microphones.

The MateBook D 15 2021 comes with a 42Wh battery and it comes with a 65W USB-C charger.

The Huawei MateBook D 15 2021 has a good metal build quality and is also lightweight. The performance of the laptop should also be enough for normal light tasks, mainly for students and office use.

The laptop looks great with minimal bezels. To achieve it, Huawei has placed the webcam under a key that pops up when pressed.

The laptop has a fingerprint sensor as well, for conveniently unlocking the device. It also has Huawei Share, which can be very useful if you are in the Huawei ecosystem.
