Last week, Samsung South Africa announced the latest range of Galaxy A smartphones to reach our shores – the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and the A33 5G.

With each new devices, Samsung strives to bring the latest mobile photography to its Galaxy A Series range. The latest devices offer an advanced, next-level camera experience, which is packed with many powerful features. Both devices feature slightly different Quad-camera configurations, with the Samsung A53 including a 64MP main camera, and the Samsung A33 a 48MP unit.
Both units are powered by the new 5nm processor, which brings with it an AI-powered camera. This makes each photo look awesome, even in low-lit environments. Its improved Night Mode sensor automatically synthesizes up to 12 images at once. This allows the end result to look bright and detailed, with far less noise.
Additionally, the enhanced Portrait Mode captures depth and subject outline for more accurate representation. With the new Fun Mode, your favourite memories are amplified with playful filters and effects. These also work with the Ultra-wide lens. And if you’re still not quite satisfied, Samsung has introduced improved Photo Remaster options to bring new life into new and old photos. You can also remove those pesky photo-bombers from the background of your favourite photos.
Samsung has fitted both smartphones with the latest display technology. The Samsung Galaxy A53 sports a 6.5″ Super AMOLED display, which offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The Samsung A33 features a 6.4″ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Both devices include the new intelligent algorithms to get the best out of the screens, even when viewing on a sunny day.
And to keep you viewing for longer, both phones pack a two-day battery at 5000mAh. Additionally, it features 25W Super-Fast Charging to get you back up and running in no time.
The Samsung Galaxy A series brings with it enhanced security, ensuring your data and information is always protected. Thanks to the upgrades of the defence-grade Samsung Knox, you can rest assured your photos, notes and apps remain private.
Users can also encrypt their data as well as add Secure Folders and a digital safe. Additionally, with Private Share, users have control over who has access to the files they share and for how long.
These security enhancements have been added to the Samsung Wallet, making it more convenient and safer to store all your cards and other info such as boarding passes while travelling.
Samsung has expanded its Galaxy ecosystem experience. This allows you to stay connected from around the world through various devices.
Audio options have also been expanded through the Galaxy Buds series. This includes the Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds2 and Buds Live devices. Users can enjoy 360 Audio technology, with immersive, 3D sound.
Samsung has also streamlined its Link to Windows software, which connects to your Windows 10 or 11 devices for seamless integration. This allows you to copy, paste, transfer files and even answer calls or texts from your Windows laptop or PC.
The Galaxy A53 5G will be available mid-March 2022 and is currently available for pre-order on Samsung.com.
